New to Albuquerque? Come meet people.

NEW2ABQ is a social group for people who just moved here, or are about to, and for locals who remember what that was like. No dues, no sales pitches. Just people to do things with.

  • Look for the NEW2ABQ sign on the tables.
  • Free to come. Buy your own food if you want some.
  • Come late, leave early, sit quietly. All of it is fine.

How it works

Anyone can host. Hosting just means "I'm doing a thing, come along." You're going to the Growers' Market Saturday anyway? Post it, and you're a host. You don't plan, entertain or pay for anyone. More on hosting.

The newest person matters most. Whoever showed up most recently gets introduced around. Nobody should be standing alone, and no event should turn into a closed circle of regulars.

We have an agreement, and we keep it. Being new makes you a target for people with agendas. So: no selling, no recruiting, not a dating pool, first meetings in public. Read the social contract.

Not just weeknights at 6. Tell us when you're actually free and what you'd show up for, and that's what gets planned. Paper interest forms are at our meetups. A web version is coming soon.
